PURPOSE: To award four housing rehabilitation contracts for the HOME
Housing Rehabilitation Program.
BACKGROUND: The Housing and Community Development Department solicited
bids from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors
participating in the County's Housing Rehabilitation
Program. Sealed bids were received from four contractors on
September 14 , 1993 and opened on the same day. Bid results
are attached.
Present program procedures provide that housing
rehabilitation contracts be awarded to the lowest
responsible bidder. However, please note that the lowest
bidder for all contracts was Farrar Enterprises which is a
new firm approved for the Housing Rehabilitation Program.
Program policies require that any new contractor be placed
on probationary status pending the satisfactory completion
of at least one rehabilitation contract. Therefore, it is
recommended that Farrar Enterprises be awarded only one
contract at this time.
RECOMMENDATION(S) :
The Manager recommends awarding the following four
rehabilitation contracts.
