Members present Chairman A. J. L!. Robbs, Commiss sonars E, S. Lani ar, D. M. Ray and A. 5. Walker, Mambars absent Commissioner Sim L. Efland. Met tl ng with the Hoard were Archle A, Davis, archl tect on the Orange County courthouse, 1Grs. Jana Parker, Superintendent of Public V'fo lfare and S, A, hicM¢hon of the Ins tltute of Government. The Hoard authorized Archle Davis to order bars to ba installed for security reasons 1n the windows of the Register of Deeds and Clerk of Superior Court vaults from the Marko Engineering Company of Charlotte, N. C., for the sum of $652.00, Funds Tor payment of th ass bars are to be taken from the General Emergency appropriation. A general dlacusslon of the impending deficit in certain Nelfare accounts was held. Mrs. Parker informed the Board that the State has e¢reed to allow t1, 000.00 addl tional adminlstra ti ve aldwhlch could ba transferable to the Welfare accounts in need of adds tion¢1 funds. There will also ba paid to the County approximately F850. 00 as rent Tor the quarters occurs ed in the new courthouse between now and July 1st, This will also be made available to further implement the :'Jelfare accounts that are apparently going into a deficit. Mrs. Parker formerly reques tad the Board to appropriate ~"(}, 225.05 to overcome the expected deficit for this year. The Hoard took this request under advisement and directed the accountant to purpose an admendment to the budget that would appropriate to the Welfare funds the money pre viously mentioned. The Board further iagreed to look Sn to this matter at a later date when estimated data upon the ~. deficit would be more accurate and when further light could be thrown upon ', the exact need of each particular fund.
