PURPOSE: To amend Policy #430 "Procedure for Local Travel Expense
Reimbursement" to reflect the increase in local travel allowance.
BACKGROUND: The mileage rate reimbursement for use of personal vehicle
related to County business was increased on July 1, 1993 to 28 cents per
mile whitrr is the federal rate. Policy #430 adopted on September 18 ,
1990 and amended on March 20, 1991 set the local travel for the Chair of
the County Commissioners at $75. 00 and for the County Commissioners at
$50. 00 'per month.
RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve increasing the local travel for the Chair to
$90. 00 per month and for the County Commissioners to $65. 00 per month.

POLICY:
PROCEDURE FOR LOCAL TRAVEL EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT
County Commissioners may receive $50 per month for local travel,
and the Chairman may receive $75 per month. Each Commissioner
will have an opportunity at the beginning of each fiscal year to
elect to be reimbursed based on submission of periodic local
travel expense reimbursement requests or receive a set amount each
month. Out-of-area travel (greater than 30 miles from Orange
County) would continue to be handled as it currently is handled by
the Finance Department.
Upon adoption of amendment on March 20, 1991, the term local
travel is designated to refer only to personal mileage.
