8 p. m. on December 1st with all members in atteadanca, in addition to the
regular Board members Commissioner's elect D. M. Psy, fl. 5. 'Ha lker and E. S.
~! Zanier were also present, as was ldr. John A. M17cMahon from the Institute of

particular reference to the blank et6ond. At the conculslon of the
discussion the accountant was disc tad to contact the various surety
companies operating is the county to secure definite proposi.tl ons.
' The President of the County Bar Asaoo iatlon requested through the
Chairman of the Board a one wank special term of Civil Court Sn January
or February. A motion to this effect was made by Commissioner Hobbs and
seconded by Commissioner ECland. IIpon a vote on the motion there were 3

The Negro Homa Demonstrat ion agent requested through her State
Bupervlsor a years leave of absence without pay commeacing January 1, 1955.
A motion to this effect was made and seconded. IIpon a vote there were 3 ayes
' and no nays.
A motion was made to give the County Accountant authority to work out
', and arran¢ement whereby the Sheriff will handle all fees due his office,
deposit them directly in the bank, and turn over the dap oait slip to
the account and re cal ve a receipt for same. The~~~mot ion was seconded and
upon s vote there was 3 ayes and no nays.
A motion was made by Commission Hobbs and seconded by Commissioner
Efland that the county accountant would be the cue todi an of the courtroom
Sn the old courthouse and the surrounding grounds. Dpon a vote there were
9 ayes and no nape.
', _ After a general discussion it was docided it would be too dan¢eroue
to allow anyone to Snstall Chri etmas 1l ghta on top of the new courthouse
as there era no safety devic as upon the top to prevent the 1l ghta from failing,

' ~ The Accountant was directed to call the architect of the paw courthouse
~' ~~-` and have him come to the mee ting Monday afternoon, December 6th to tell the
Hoard how the proposed bars on the vaults will be installed.
