PURPOSE: To receive a report on progress in the Emergency Medical
Services Strategic Plan process.
BACKGROUND: Since late 1991, a broad group of emergency service
providers, medical professionals, elected officials, County staff, and
interested citizens have been at work developing recommendations on a
long-term strategic plan for EMS in Orange County. Steering Committee
Chair Norm Gustaveson, along with members Carol Lorenz and Bob
Lockwood, will make a brief oral report about progress of the four
medical subcommittees and public information efforts designed to
ascertain the expectations that Orange County citizens have of the EMS
system.
RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Manager recommends that the Board recceive the
report for information only.
