PURPOSE: To consider a request from White Cross VFD for appropriation
of a portion of their accumulated fund balance.
BACKGROUND: The President of the Board of Directors of the White Cross
Volunteer Fire Department has written to request that the Board of
Commissioners appropriate $11, 170 of fund balance in the White Cross
Fire District Fund for the purchase of turnout gear, battery chargers,
and an air compressor. White Cross has available, undesignated fund
balance of $21, 982 as of June 30, 1992. The County Fire Marshal and
Budget Office have reviewed this request and recommend approval.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the
appropriation of $11, 170 of fund balance in the White Cross Fire
District Fund.
