PURPOSE: To set a date for a public hearing on the Commissioners '
Adopted Goals for 1993-94.
BACKGROUND: At their annual Planning Retreat on December 12, 1992,
the County Commissioners provided direction to staff on amendments and
additions to the current package of Board goals. In March 1993, staff
prepared a draft of goals, objectives, action plans, and timetables for
review by the Board. Adoption of the 1993-94 Goals package is
tentatively planned for the second April or first May meeting of the
County Commissioners. It is suggested that the Board hold a public
hearing at the second May meeting to receive citizen comments about
these goals, their priority, and their impact upon the 1993-94 Orange
County Budget.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board schedule a
public hearing on the Commissioners' 1993-94 Goals for Tuesday, May 18,
1993 at 7 :30pm at the OWASA Community Room in Carrboro.
