PURPOSE: To present an Appreciation Resolution to Lucy T. Fort upon
her retirement as the Nurse Preceptor/Coordinator for the
Advanced Life Support Program for Orange County.
BACKGROUND:
The Emergency Medical Services Program of Orange County is
one of the top programs in the State of North Carolina.
This is due in part to the unselfish support of Lucy T.
Fort. During the time she has been involved in the
training of the highly skilled technicians currently in our
service, she has provided initial certification training
for more than 250 personnel. She has also been the
backbone of the excellent continuing education program
currently ongoing in Orange County which has included more
than 500 personnel during her tenure. Her knowledge and
skills and her personal sacrificies have combined to make
this an excellent emergency medical services program.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Manager recommends that the Board present a Resolution
of Appreciation to Lucy T. Fort.

RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
FOR
LUCY TAYLOR FORT, R.N.
WHEREAS, Lucy Fort has served as the Nurse Preceptor/
Coordinator for the Advanced Life Support Program
of Orange County since 1974; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Fort has provided learning opportunities for
the Paramedics through her leadership as the
training coordinator for the Emergency Medical
Services; and
WHEREAS, she has given of her skills and knowledge to
benefit all the citizens of Orange County by
assuring the availability of highly trained
technicians for assistance in emergencies; and
WHEREAS, she has made many personal sacrificies including
nights and weekends to assist with emergencies;
NOW
THEREFORE, the members of the Orange County Board of
Commissioners do hereby thank Lucy Fort, upon her
retirement, for the service she performed on
behalf of the citizens of Orange County.
