Cha iru:an Forrest, Convmissi oner Hobbs presided over said meeting. The minutes
of the last meet ine mere read by the secretary and approved by the Hoard.

T•fr. F. J. LeCleir of Chapel Hi 11 presented the plans for the landscapl rg

teke the contract for that price. Ltr, LeClair stated he would beein the lend-
scaping in January, 1955„ and would be resn one ible for replacing all trees
and shrubs that di.e before June 1, 1955, but after that date the covntp must
pay 1/2 nri ce for e11 trees and shrubs which die end must be replaced.
htr. G. Paul Carr, Gunt, of Schools presented a temporary plan for the
remodeling of the old courthouse and he asked permission to cut two new doors

A letter fron 1.!ebane Lumber Como¢ny dated November 1, 1954, was presented

turned over to bix-. 5, M. Ca ttis with instnmtions to mail it to the J. 71.
Cleminshaw Company as they will be responsible for representing the county in
said action.
R, C. hasterton and E. H. Denny, Jr„ members of the committee sports Bring
a movement to ¢s teblish a rural fire district in the vici my of Chapel Hill
appeared and requested the Board to call for an election concc rning the matter
of creating a rural fire district Sor the Chanel Ai 11 area. They presented a
petition signed by eporoxlmat ely 50,= of the property ovmers in the pro oos ed
fire district area. After a lengthy discussion of the many practical
problems involved in setting up ¢ Sire dl strict area at this time Commissioner
Hobbs suggested that the matter be presented to the Commissioners et e speciel
call meeting in December.

There being no further business to come before the Hoard at this time
the meeting was adjourned to meet on VYC-d, 1JOV. 3,,1954 to inspect roads in
the county.
