PURPOSE: To .provide some staff follow-up information to the discussions from the January
19, 2007 BOCC retreat.
BACKGROUND: At the Board's January 19, 2007 retreat, the BOCC discussed a number of
issues related to moving the County forward and establishing some priorities to help guide the
upcoming FY 2007-08 budget process as well as help focus staffs efforts on areas of greatest
interest. .
By the end of the retreat discussion, the Board had identified nine areas of priority interest. The
Board asked that the County Manager review the conclusions from the retreat and provide
some feedback to the Board on how the nine areas could be addressed.
The Manager provided some initial follow-up information to the Board at the March 1, 2007 work
session. Additional information regarding the priority discussions from the Board retreat will be
provided at the April 12th work session and in the coming weeks.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with receiving some staff follow-
up information to the discussions from the January 19,-2007 BOCC retreat.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager. recommends that the Board receive some staff follow-
up information to the discussions from the January 19; 2007 BOCC retreat and provide any
comments or questions.
