I ~ fitembers aba entb None. --' DSds were presented on office furniture for the New Courthouse and benches for the Courtroom as follows: Bids on benches were offered by Southern Desk Company, Hickory, N. C. snd Cerrlker Church Furniture Company, Monroe, N. C. Lowest bid by Southern Desk Company was ~r3,958.42, lowest bid by Carriker Church Furniture Compa:g was y3, 544.00. IIpon motion of Commis sinner Efla nd, end seconded by Commies inner Hobbs, the following reaoly tion was unanimously adopted: RESOLVID, That whereas a term of Orange County Superior Court Tor the trial of criminal ces es is scheduled to convene on the 23rd day of Au gue t, 1954; end Vthereas, 5. T. Latta, Sheriff of 0-enge County and E. Li, Lynch, Clerk of Superior Court of Oren ge County, are requesting that the term scheduled to convene on the 23rd day of August, 1954, bs cent ailed: .' l~ NOW THEREFORE:, The Bom^d of Commissioners of Orange County, being of the opinion that it would be to the best interest of Orange County and its citizens to cancel. the said term of court which is set to begin on the 23rd day of August, 1954, do hereby respectfully ask end request tho Honorable M. V. Barnhill, Chief Jus tics of the Supreme Court of North Carolina, to cancel the sold term of court Sor the reason hereinbefore set forth. It is ordered that a certi£lad copy of th1.s resolution be submitted to the said Chief Justice.
