PURPOSE: To award two housing rehabilitation contracts for the HOME
Housing Rehabilitation Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids
from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating
in the County' s Housing Rehabilitation Program. Sealed bids
were received from participating contractors on Thursday,
September 8, 1994 and opened on the same day. Bid results are
attached.
Present program procedures provide that housing rehabilitation
contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder.
However, the lowest bidder for Dwelling #11 has declined this
job as evidenced by the attached letter, therefore, the second
lowest bidder, Orange Chatham Home Repair is recommended for
contract award.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Manager recommends awarding the following two rehabilitation
contracts:
