Dear Mr. Whitted:
At your request I called a meeting of the Orange County
Democratic Executive Committee to recommend three (3) persons
to you and the Board of Commissioners for your consideration
in filling the vacancy on the Board of Commissioners created
by the resignation of Anne Barnes.
The meeting of the Executive Committee was called for
Thursday, December 17, 1981 at 8:00 p.m. in the Superior
Courtroom of the Orange County Courthouse in Hillsborough.
The Committee did in fact meet at that time, took nominations
and voted on those whose names were placed in nomination.
The following people were recommended by the Executive
Committee, and I, on behalf of the Committee, recommend them
heartily for your consideration:
Moses Carey, Carrboro, North Carolina
Shirley Marshall, Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Judy Cox, Hillsborough, North Carolina
If you or any member of the Board of Commissioners have
any question about this matter, please do not hesitate to call
me.
