MINUTES
ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
DECEMBER 18, 1987
SPECIAL MEETING
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special
session on December 18 at 12 : 00 noon for the purpose of
adjourning into executive session to receive the results of
the assessment center and to initiate negotiations with the
County Manager candidate.
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT
Chair Shirley E. Marshall and Commissioners Moses Carey,
Jr. , Stephen Halkiotis, John Hartwell and Don Willhoit.
Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by
Commissioner Carey to go into executive session for the
purpose of selecting the new County Manager.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS.
Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by
Commissioner Halkiotis to return to special session.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS.
Chair Shirley E. Marshall continued the meeting to
Saturday, December 19 at 9: 00 a.m. at 707 E. Franklin Street,
Chapel Hill, North Carolina to deliberate further on the
selection of a manager. The meeting was further continued to
11: 00 a.m. , December 19, Board of Commissioners' Room,
Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by
Commissioner Carey to go into executive session.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS.
Motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by
Commissioner Hartwell to return to special session.
VOTE: UNANIMOUS.
With nothing further to consider, Chair Marshall
adjourned the meeting.
