AGENDA ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MARCH 23, 1981 SUPERIOR COURTROOM, ORANGE COUNTY COURTHOUSE HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 7:30 P.M. 1. The Department of Transportation will review a proposed Secondary Road Program for Fiscal Year 1981-1982. 2. Will the Board of Commissioners endorse the Secondary Road Improve- ment Program proposed by the Department of Transportation? THE MEETING WILL MOVE TO THE COMMISSIONERS ' ROOM ORANGE COUNTY COURTHOUSE 3. Does any Board member desire to modify this agenda? 4. Does any member of the audience desire to comment about: A. Matters on this agenda? B. Matters not on this agenda? 5. The Clerk submits Minutes of meetings held March 2 and March 16, 1981, for Board consideration. 6. Representatives of the Joppa Oaks Homeowners Association will add- ress the Board concerning: A. The lack of fire hydrants in their community; B. A leash law in Orange County for dogs. 7. The Manager recommends approval of an amendment to the Section 8 Existing Contributions Contract that awards 37 additional units to the Orange County program. 8. Harold Rogerson, representing the Youth Services Needs Task Force, will discuss possible CBA funding cutbacks. I 9. The Manager recommends the Board approve budget amendments : A. To the CETA program formally recording the fund de-obligation previously approved by the Board and adding $13,198 to the YETP Program; B. To the Social Services budget recording $21,840 additional Day Care funding; C. Transferring $25,013 from the EMS Capital Projects account to EMS Personnel , Social Security, supplies and ambulance re- pair; D. Transferring $2,500 from Contingency to Emergency Preparedness; E. Transferring $2,600 to the Telephone Capital Equipinent Account. 10. The Tax Supervisor presents: A. Petitions for tax refunds; B. Petitions for tax releases; C. Requests for release of late listing penalty; D. Petitions for refund of Carrboro Town Taxes to be repaid by the Town to property owners! E. The truck will be a 62-71 Detroit Diesel with a 1,000 GPM pump with a 1,000 gallon capacity tank. This new truck will be based at the No. 2 Station on N.C. 86 highway. It is needed to upgrade the present equipment and for the department to remain qualified for the State Insurance Rating to benefit our citizens in the Fire Tax area,. --- Please advise if the proposed purchase is consistent with the County Fire Protection Plan.
