RE: Single Occupancy Restroom Improvement Project Update
In the FY2016-17 Capital Investment Plan (CIP), the Board of County Commissioners appropriated the
necessary funds for single occupancy restrooms for all County owned facilities. The majority of County
facilities are already equipped with single occupancy restrooms. However, the following three facilities do not
have a single occupancy restrooms; Animal Services Center, Rogers Road Community Center, and Solid
Waste Operations Center. The scope of work will include the installation of new single occupancy restrooms
where needed as well as significant wayfindi g signage to accommodate staff and the public.
The preliminary design work is underway f r the thre facilities requiring significant plumbing. Bidding and
construction of these facilities will occur soon thereafter, and completion is anticipated by the end of 2016.
In addition to the appropriate wayfinding signage improvements, all County single occupancy restrooms will
have the appropriate restroom identification signage, baby changing stations, and, where necessary, minor
hallway partition installations to lead individuals to the restroom accommodations. Attached is a sample of
the room identification signage that will be installed. The signage, baby changing stations and partition
construction is anticipated to be completed in the late faill of 2016.
