With regard to staff appointments to this committee, my recommendations are Thorn Freeman (an employee at the
Shelter) and Drew Brinkley (an Animal Control Officer). I believe it is critically important to have staff fiom both of
our divisions appointed given that the facility (as well as our department itself) is intended to house and facilitate
integrated and coordinated amoral services.
We are very fortunate to have three truly exceptional staff applicants for this Committee. The third is Sarah Fallin, our
Program Coordinator, who coordinates our volunteer program, and who is largely responsible for the Park Foundation
grant that enabled us to conduct recent site visits with members of the design team. She would be an outstanding
committee member as well. My only reason for not recommending Sarah is that there are only two staff positions, and
as our volunteers are already represented on the Committee by other appointments, a broader cross section of input may
be achieved by appointing the two recommended staff.
