The petitions and responses are listed below: 1) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Jacobs that staff provide a presentation to the Board on water allocations, specifically Jordan Lake as it relates to Raleigh and Wake County. Response: Staff will provide a report under Information Items on a future agenda. 2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Pelissier and Commissioner Rich that the County establish an affordable housing work group of two elected officials from each jurisdiction. Response: Comprehensive list of existing affordable housing groups to be developed; Chair and Vice Chair to discuss further thereafter. 3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Burroughs that the Board move the Consent Agenda portion of the agenda to the beginning of the meeting agendas. Response: Chair and Vice Chair to pursue options. 4) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price that the Board address the housing issue in the Fairview community. Response: In progress— item was discussed in March 22nd Board closed session. 5) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price regarding Durham Tech Board of Trustees and the resignation of Dr. Gerald Ponder, move forward with advertising the vacancy and bring back current applicants as well as any new applicants for appointment consideration by the Board. Response:To be advertised and applicants information will be provided to Board for appointment consideration. 6) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that the Board consider a Sexual Assault Awareness Month Proclamation for April 2016. Response: Scheduled for April 5th Board meeting. 7) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that OPT staff assess the impact of the planned residential construction in Hillsborough on the current transportation system and service needs and pursue conversation with Hillsborough on joint efforts to support transportation. Response: Staff to review potential impacts and provide information to the Board. 8) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that the Arts Commission assess current process for awarding grants and pursue development of a new process that provides new ways to award grants and encourages new applicants and grant recipients. Response: Information to be developed on current scope and intent of program, including process, restrictions, State money use options, County money use options, etc. 9) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that the Strategic Communications Implementation Group have the opportunity to discuss current activities and efforts to address needs identified. Response: Staff to discuss and pursue options. 10)Review and consider a request by Chair McKee that staff pursue efforts for mattresses to be accepted at no- charge at the Walnut Grove and the Eubanks Road Solid Waste Convenience Centers.
