ORANGE COUNTY
EXEMPTION/EXCLUSION RESOLUTION
Whereas,North Carolina General Statutes 105-282.1 empowers the Board of County
Commissioners to approve applications for exemption after the close of the listing period,and
Whereas,good cause has been shown as evidenced by the information packet provided,and
Whereas,the Tax Administrator has determined that the applicants could have been approved for
2015 had applications been timely.
NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF ORANGE COUNTY THAT the properties applying for exemption for
2015 are so approved as exempt.
Upon motion duly made and seconded,the foregoing resolution was passed by the following
votes:

Please accept and approve our application for exemption from property taxes as submitted to you k
via email earlier today. I sincerely apologize for the lateness of this application. r
When we obtained the entire parcel of land in 2011,we applied for and were granted an exemption
from property taxes. We subsequently put in all the infrastructure and in 2014 subdivided the
property into smaller lots for affordable housing construction. But it seems that we overlooked u
applying for tax exemptions on all of the newly-created individual lots and open spaces. This was an ti
oversight on our part and we apologize.
