PURPOSE: To consider making reappointments to the Affordable Housing Advisory Board.
BACKGROUND: The Clerk's Office has received a recommendation for reappointments to the
Affordable Housing Advisory Board for the following people: Dr. Gary Gaddy and Barbara Mull:
If reappointed Dr. Gary Gaddy will be serving a second full term ending 9/30/2010. Ms. Mull will
be serving a second full term ending 9/30/2010.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.

Dear Support Staff,
Staff was notified on Monday, August 20th about upcoming appointments for the September 19th BOCC meeting
-BUT -only 4 Departments responded to my request for appts/reappts and thus, I am again attaching a
preliminary list of appointments to be made (not in September-since the deadline has passed for that meeting) but
for the October 23rd BOCC meeting. Please check the attached list for your board, and then check
http://serverl .co.orange.nc.us/boards/InfoFrames.htm to see who is up for reappointment and who has rolled off
the board.
PLEASE -Start talking to your members to see who does/doesn't want to be reappointed. In order to be eligible
for reappointment, all volunteers should have attended at least 75% of meetings/events and should be a member
in good standing. To start the reappointment process, I will need attendance records for the past year and
a short letter of recommendation.
If your board talks to/interviews potential volunteers, that process should be underway to fill all vacant positions. I
will be expecting letters of recommendation from you board for recommended volunteers. If your board does not
talk to potential volunteers, then, of course, I will not be expecting anything from you concerning new
appointments. If you are not sure what positions are vacant, check the attached list or visit the link that is given
above.
Please send all attendance records and letters of recommendation to me by October 1st.
