ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MAY 24, 1979
The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in special session on

Thursday, May 24, 1979, at 7:30 p.m. , in the Commissioners Room, of the
Orange County Courthouse, in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Commissioners present: Commissioner Richard Whitted, Chairman,
and Commissioners Anne Barnes, Norman Walker, Norman Gustaveson and
Don Willhoit.
This was a work session to review the Orange County School 's current
expense budget, capital outlay budget and five-year plan.
Mr. Tom Rickman reviewed the budget proposals and he and Mr. Dan
Lunsford and Mr. Mike Simmons answered questions. Orange County School
Board members present included: Mr. Oscar Compton, Chairman, and
Mr. Ken Collins, Mr. James Freeland, Mr. John Thomas Walker, Mr. Norman
Haithcock and Mr. Max Kennedy.
The Board of Commissioners requested the School Board submit a
"B" budget for all budgetary requests above the 7 percent guideline.
The Board took no official action during this work session.
