' AGENDA ITEM RESOLUTION Pursuant to Article 20, Chapter 160A of the North Carolina General Statutes the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, by motion duly made and seconded hereby resolve on behalf of Orange County to contract and agree with the Town of Carrboro, the Town of Chapel Hill and the Town of Hillsborough to provide for centralized and systematized collection of property t xes in Orange County via a joint tax collection system effective for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1978 and for taxes charged to the County Tax Collector for the collection year beginning September 1, 1978 . By this resolution the Board hereby ratifies the operation of the joint tax. collection system pursuant to the contract entered into on this day for the tax collection years beginning September 1 , 1978 and September 1, 1979. It is further resolved that the Chairman is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the County `the joint tax collection contract in quadruplicate originals . BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Community DevelopNent Task Force and the residents of Northern Fairview express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Orange County Board of Commissioners for their continuing support of i the Northern Fairview Community Development Block Grant Program. Approximately 55% of the cost of paving the above roads will be borne by the Department of Transportation of the State of North Carolina. 2. The basis for assessment for the local share of the cost of this project shall be the cost to Orange County per linear foot of street frontage, including County administra- tive expenses and attorney's fees. 3. Orange County will assess the total local share according to the basis set out in Number 2 above which local share represents approximately 45 percent of the total. project cost. 4. The assessment shall be paid in the following manner: a. within thirty (30) days after the Notice of Confirmation of the Assessment Role is published, each owner of the property may pay his assessment in full. b.
