Hi Angel,
I just wanted to follow up with your regarding the applications that I forwarded to you. Igo you feel that you have a
good pool from which to choose or do we need to run a Public Service Announcement to prompt more

continued interest and did not receive a response.

In my position as Administrative Assistant at the Chapel Hill Police Department I managed the

grant applications for technology equipment, traffic enforcement and education funding, drug
and alcohol court programs, and family violence prevention and intervention programs.
As the Police Analyst I was responsible for the selection, purchase, installation, and supervision
of the computerized records management system. I supervised the employees of the

Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
Background, education and experience relevant to this board:
Long-time Orange County resident; retired as Budget Director from Orange County Local
Government in 2009 after serving 28.5 years of public service; currently serve as elected Board
member to Orange County Schools Board of Education.
My experience in local government finance, budget, personnel management, etc. provides an
excellent foundation for me to be a strong contributing board member for the ABC Board.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
I have spent my entire professional life as a public servant, and I see my appointment to the
ABC Board as another opportunity for me to continue giving to our community.
I believe that, based on my experience, I can be an excellent asset to the ABC Board as it
pursues its goals. I am well versed in providing high levels of customer service, exploring
opportunities to retain a dedicated workforce, and governmental accounting and budgeting for
both day-to-day operations and capital expansion and improvements.
Conflict of Interest:
I understand that the ABC Board provides money to the Orange County Board of Education;
however, that is only a very small portion of its budget. To that end, I would recuse myself from
any decisions regarding the Orange County Board of Education should the ABC Board deem my

vote as a conflict.
