TheNCCETCisfundedbytheNCDepartmentofTransportationtoadministertheCFATgrantprogram tolowervehicleemissionsinNCcountieswithanon-attainmentstatusforairquality,asdeterminedby theUSEnvironmentalProtectionAgency.The"grantproposalwaswrittenbyathirdpartycalledNew WestTechnologiesonbehalfofStealthPowerLLC,anidle-reductiontechnologyprovider. Inthefallof2014,OrangeCounjyAssetManagementServices(AMS)wasapproacHedtoseeifwe wouldbeinterestedinworkingwithNewWestandStealthPowerunderthisgrantinordertoreceive idlereductionequipmentonsevenofourambulancesatnocosttotheCounty.AMSprovidedaletter ofsupportaffirmingourinterestandwewereawardedthegrantvaluedat$181,965.00. InearlyMarch,AMS,theCountyManager,andtheCountYAttorneyreviewedanMOUlayingoutthe management,maintenance,andreportingrequirementsassociatedwiththeproject.TheMOUhas beenexecutedbytheCountyManager.I Thisprojectwillbecompletedwithnocapitalexpenditures.onlyin-kindinvestmentsintheuseof existinglabor,facilities,andequipment.BenefitsofthisprojecttotheCountyinclude: •Reductionsinfuelcostsandharmfulemissions• •pilotprojecttoassesstechnologyforpossiblefutureinvestment •possiblereductionsinvehiclemaintenancecostsandextensionofvehiclelife Pleasedon'thesitatetocontactmedirectlywithquestions,orifadditionalinformationisrequiredatthis time.
