Please make reference to the attached two documents. The
agenda abstract dated April 19, 1994 recommends approval and that
the Chair be authorized to sign. However, when I received the
signed agreement., you had signed as Health Director.
Please let me know if this is the same agreement and what I
need to do legally about this agreement.
Thank you.

PURPOSE:
To approve the renewal of an Agreement between UNC Hospitals and orange County
for the Health Department through which the Hospital agrees to provide shared
office space for a Maternity Care Coordinator from the Health Department.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Department has received ongoing Medicaid reimbursement to fund a
Maternity Care Coordinator whose caseload focuses on UNC Hospital patients.
This agreement, which involves no exchange of funds, assures that the health
department employee has space and access to UNC Hospital patients requiring her
services. Because there is no cost associated with this agreement, the need to
renew it was overlooked until recently.
RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Manager recommends the agreement be approved and
that the Chair be authorized to sign.
