PURPOSE: To approve renewal of a contract with Durham Tech for
administrative support that Orange County provides for fire training
classes held in Orange County.
BACKGROUND: In 1991, Orange County entered into a contract with Durham
Technical Community College. Under the terms of the contract, Orange
County Emergency Management received $6 ,430 for administrative support
in coordinating fire training provided by Durham Tech. This arrangement
was unanimously endorsed by the Orange County Chiefs ' Council .
Operation under the past two years of this contract has proven very
beneficial to the fire services in Orange County in improving access to
needed training for volunteer firefighters. The contract for $ 7,705 is
to be renewed.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the
contract renewal and authorize the Chair to sign.

CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT
ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT agrees to provide the following services to Durham
(Contractor)
Technical Community College on the indicated dates:
Starting July 1, 1993 and ending June 30, 1994. The Emergency Management Services
will provide administrative support for Emergency Services training classes
conducted in Orange County.
Durham Technical Community College agrees to the following in return for the services rendered:
Upon completion of services and receipt of an invoice, Durham Tech will pay
Orange County Emergency Management $7705.00. Quarterly invoices will be accepted.
