PURPOSE:
To amendthe County Manager’s employment contract.
BACKGROUND:
On December 11, 2014,the Board of County Commissioners met with
County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, to discuss the first six months of her employment as
Manager of Orange County. During that meeting the Board determined to increasethe
Manager’s salary five percent (5%).
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This action increasesthe costs associated with the Manager’s
compensation by approximately eight thousand dollars ($8,000)plus other minor associated
costs related to benefits.
RECOMMENDATION(S):
The Attorneyrecommendsthe Board approve the amended
contract.

THIS AMENDMENT, made and entered into this the 22
political subdivision of the State of North Carolina, hereinafter called County, party of the first part, and Bonnie
Hammersley, hereinafter called Employee, party of the second part:
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the County and Employee entered into an Employment Agreement dMay 22, 2014, for the
management of the general operations of the County government, (hereinafter the Original Agreement ); a
WHEREAS, the County and Employee desire to amend the Original Agreement, while keeping in effect all terms and
conditions of the Original Agreement not inconsistent with the t
NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration for the mutual covenants and agreements made herein, the parties agr
to amend the Original Agreement as follows:
SECTION 7: SALARY
Employee will be paid an annualized salary of One Hundred Sixty-eight Thousand Dollars ($168,000.00), payable
on the same schedule as for other County employees. Changes to
administered in a manner similar to other county employees subjey
