PURPOSE: To report to the Board of County Commissioners with regards
to the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation in it' s request to
establish a village site as part of the proposed park on the Eno River
in Hillsborough and to ask the Board of County Commissioners to support
by resolution the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation in it' s efforts
to obtain State recognition through the North Carolina Commission on
Indian Affairs on December 8, 1995 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
BACKGROUND: John Jeffries, Council Member, will present a report and
be available to answer questions.
