PURPOSE: To approve a proclamation honoring Crystal Overcash.
BACKGROUND: It has been brought to the County' s attention that
Crystal Overcash, the 20 month old daughter of Johnny and Sharon
Overcash, is suffering from leukemia. Approval of the attached
proclamation will bring attention to a range of fund raising events
that will be taking place, with all proceeds going to the child' s
endowment fund.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the
proclamation.
ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
A PROCLAMATION HONORING CRYSTAL OVERCASH
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Orange County
Board of Commissioners that Crystal Overcash, 20 month old daughter of
Johnny and Sharon Overcash, is suffering from leukemia; and
WHEREAS, numerous fund raising events have been planned with all
proceeds going to the child' s endowment fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners empathizes with the Overcash family
during this difficult period; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Commissioners wishes to draw attention to fund
raising efforts on behalf of this child;
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS do hereby
proclaim October 28 , 1995 as "CRYSTAL OVERCASH DAY" in Orange County,
and offer our best wishes to Crystal Overcash and her family for her
complete and speedy recovery.
