PURPOSE: To award one ( 1) housing rehabilitation contracts for the
HOME Housing Rehabilitation Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids
from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating
in the County' s Housing Rehabilitation Program. Sealed bids
were received from participating contractors on June 26, 1995
and opened on the same days respectively. Bid results are
attached.
Present program procedures provide that housing rehabilitation
contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bid
award was approved for Dwelling #19 on August 3, 1995.
However, since that time, the lowest bidder for Dwelling #19,
Sanders Bilt Construction Co. has informed the County that they
will be unable to accept the contract. Thus, County staff
recommends awarding the bid to the next lowest bidder, Taylor
Home Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Manager recommends awarding the following rehabilitation .contract:

COMMENTS:
The BOCC awarded the bid for this job to the lowest bidder,
Sanders Bilt Construction Co on August 3, 1995. Since that time,
this contractor has declined to complete the job. Therefore,
recommendation is made for the next lowest bidder, Taylor Home
Improvements.
