PURPOSE: To consider making one new appointment to the Economic Development
Commission.
BACKGROUND: The town of Carrboro is recommending the appointment of Raridee Haven
O'Donnell to the Economic Development Commission. She will replace Dan Coleman. If
appointed, she will be serving as an elected official representing the Town of Carrboro and her
partial term will end on 6/30/2009.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making a new appointment to the Economic Development
Commission.

My affection for Chapel Hill evolved during my college years here. It wasn't the students,
necessarily or the nightlife. Instead it was the town, neighborhoods, and the small
business owners and everything else that distinguishes Chapel Hill. My primary purpose
in wanting to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission is that I have an
understanding of the needs as well as the constraints that must be imposed in such an
area/ I grew up in Salisbury NC in the historic district and I have also lived in Greensville
South Carolina in a historic district there. During my tenure in college I was a member of
the Ginghaul Castle, so I know that neighborhood as well. This is something that I would
pursue with good faith efforts to improve the town as much as possible. As a side note, I

Security Reform for Mexicans. With Social Welfare I began in 1989 with Welfare reform,
Education, Job Training, Childcare, Medicare and Medicaid and the Social Security
Retirement Issues. In Political Promulgation, I wrote packets on the Economy, a Clinton
Goodbye Note,.the Nations' Surplus, the US and the Leaders in Stamping out terrorism,
the Removal of Saddam, the Social Security Reform for the Mexicans, and I recently
wrote on the Immigrants on April 19, 2006. In my volunteer writings to the government
the needs of the nation and its people I have helped people from the poorest to the
wealthiest. This has given me great pleasure seeing programs being put in place to help
a wide scope of people from the least to the greatest. The Presidents wrote me back
and asked me to stay involved. I now say it is time for me to reach into the depths of the
people to get even more involved and get even more done for the people. I find it a

local church, Mount Zion AME in Hillsborough, NC where I am on the ministerial staff and
