PURPOSE:
To consider declaring six pieces of heavy equipment surplus.
BACKGROUND:
The Director of Asset Management Services is authorized to declare items
surplus up to $5,000. Currently the Solid Waste Department has the following six pieces of
equipment that are no longerneeded and therefore are recommended to be declared surplus and
sold. It is anticipated all will exceed the $5,000threshold. The equipment will be sold by March
2015 through GovDeals, a business that allows government agencies to sell surplus equipment via
the Internet.
