Rubin, (919) 245-2130 Jr. Resolution Recognizing Lee Smith Resolution Recognizing Elizabeth Spencer PURPOSE: To consider fiveresolutionsrecognizing five inducteesinto the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame who have significant ties toOrange County. BACKGROUND: The North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame celebrates and promotes the rich literary heritage of North Carolina. Since the Literary Hall of Fame was formally established in May 1996, five individuals with significant ties to Orange County have been recognized. Jaki SheltonGreen, Allan Gurganus, Louis D. Rubin, Jr., Lee Smith, and Elizabeth Spencer have all been selected as inducteesinto the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign the attached resolutionsrecognizingJaki Shelton Green, Allan Gurganus, Louis D.
