THE ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF 002MSSIONERS
NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION W
WIMFW% historic preservation is an effective tool for managing growth, revitalizing neighborhoods,
fostering local pride and maintaining community character while enhancing livability; and'
W LMEAS,historic preservation is relevant for communities across the nation,both urban and rural,and
for Americans of all ages, all walks of life and all ethnic backgrounds; and
WILKREA,% it is important to celebrate the role of history in our lives and the contributions made by AFPN
dedicated individuals in helping to preserve the tangible aspects of the heritage that has shaped us as a
people; and
W W AS, Orange County is committed to preserving its historic architectural and archeological
resources for its citizens and future generations; and
WRWA&%"Real People,Real Places,Real History"is the theme for National Historic Preservation Week
1995, consponsored by the Orange County Historic Preservation Commission and the National Trust for
Historic Preservation:
NOW, T MEFORE, the Orange County Board.of Commissioners.does hereby proclaim
May 14-20, 1995, as National Historic Preservation Week
in celebration of the cultural heritage of Orange County and hereby urges all citizens to
support historic preservation efforts.
