Lake Hogan Farm Sewer Outfall Plat
PURPOSE: To consider approving a dedication of water and sewer lines built to service the
Homestead Community Center to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority ("OWASA").
BACKGROUND: The Board may recall that the construction of a sewer line at the Homestead
Community Center was necessitated by a failed septic system. Since the Center is heavily used
by the Recreation Department for programs, it was necessary to take interim measures to
ensure the facility was kept operational. As a result, a pump and haul permit was issued
through Environmental Health to accommodate septic services at the building until such time the
construction of the sewer line was completed. The line is now completed and, as is customary,
OWASA is requesting this dedication in order to properly service the utilities installed to serve
the Homestead Community Center. The lines are depicted on the attached Final Plat for the
project.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the dedication of
the utilities to OWASA as presented, contingent upon final review by the County Attorney; and
authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board.

Dear Sirs:
Orange County, North Carolina the current owner of the Lake Hogan Farms Community
Center, according to Plat Book 46 at Page 167 of the Orange County Registry, does
hereby dedicate and convey unto Orange Water and Sewer Authority, its successors
and assigns, all of its right, title and interest in and to the sewer lines constructed in
accordance with final plat titled Lake Hogan Farm Sewer Outfall, Project Number 07-
542, fieldwork dated December 18th; 2007.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, this letter is executed by the duly authorized officers of
Orange County, North Carolina and its corporate seal to be hereunto affixed, all on the
day and year first above written.
