PURPOSE: To proclaim April 22-29 as Orange County Pre-School Immunization Week
BACKGROUND: To ensure a good start for the future citizens of North Carolina, the General
Assembly, and the Governor have made childhood immunizations a top priority.
April 22-29 has been proclaimed National Pre-School Immunization Week. The Orange County
Coalition for Immunization was organized by the Cooperative Extension Service in an effort to
have groups and agencies work together to increase the immunization rate in Orange County.
The Coalition requests that April 22-29 be proclaimed as Orange County Pre-School
Immunization Week.
RECOMMENDATIONS: To proclaim the week of April 22-29 as Orange County Pre-School
Immunization Week and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamation on behalf of the Board.
