HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda - 03-15-1995 - 2 -T4M 12, CHARGE TO THE COOPERATIVE PLANNING WORK GROUP BACKGROUND: In October, 1994, the Board of County Commissioners adopted goals and objectives for FY 1994-95. One goal adopted by the Board is directly related to continuing efforts by Hillsborough and Orange County to cooperatively plan for growth in the central portion of the county. In November, 1994, the Board of Commissioners and the Hillsborough Town Board met jointly to discuss the status of the Cooperative Planning Agreement and the recommendations of the I-40/Old N.C.86 Work Group. The two governing boards agreed in principle to review the Cooperative Planning Agreement between Orange County and the'Town of Hillsborough, including the preparation of amendments to the Agreement. CHARGE: To review the attached Cooperative Planning Agreement between Orange County and the Town of Hillsborough, including the preparation of amendments to the Agreement as may be recommended by the Planning Group. Proposed amendments may address, but not be limited to, such issues as annexation, open space definition, and water/sewer service boundaries. MEMBERSHIP: The Cooperative Planning Work Group will be comprised of the following members: • Board of Commissioners Stephen Halkiotis Don Willhoit • Hillsborough Town Board Euelyn Lloyd Catherine Martin STAFFING: The Work Group will be supported by the following staff: • Orange County Staff County Manager John Link County Attorney Geoffrey Gledhill Planning Director Marvin Collins • Hillsborough Town Staff Town Manager Eric Swanson Town Attorney Michael Brough Planning Director Margaret Hauth TIME SCHEDULE: The Work Group shall establish a meeting schedule that will allow it to complete its work and make preliminary recommendations to the governing boards of Orange County and the Town of Hillsborough no later than June, 1995.
