BACKGROUND: The Clerk's office has received recommendations from the Advisory Board of Aging for the following: Steve Lackey, Don Willhoit and Miriam Settle. If appointed, Mr. Lackey and Mr. Willhoit will be serving full terms ending 6/30/2011; Ms. Settle will be serving a partial term ending 6/30/2010. Box 8181 Hillsborough, NC 27278 Dear Chair Jacobs: Subject: Board Appointment At the June l ltl' meeting of the Advisory Board on Aging all current applications for membership to the Advisory Board were reviewed. The Advisory Board on Aging recommends that Mr. Steve Lackey be considered for nomination to the vacant position #1 as an at-large representative. Mr. Lackey has served in a voluntary capacity with many community organizations. He has chaired the former United Way Seniors Issues Team and is currently a member of the United Way Orange County Community Care Cabinet. Mr. Lackey currently serves as Vice-President of the Friends of the Robert and Pearl Seymour Center and is a member of Project Compassion advisoryboard. Mr: Lackey has attended numerous joint meetings of the Seniors Issue Team and the Advisory Board on Aging and is well experienced with the functions of the Advisory Board.
