PURPOSE: To award five housing rehabilitation contracts for the HOME
Housing Rehabilitation Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids
from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating
in the County' s Housing Rehabilitation Program. Sealed bids
were received from participating contractors on December 2,
1994 and January 26, 1995 and opened on the same days
respectively. Bid results are attached.
Present program procedures provide that housing rehabilitation
contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Please
note that the lowest bidder for Dwelling #13 is not a Licensed
General Contractor therefore this company cannot receive the
contract award. State Building Code requires that all
renovation work in excess of $30,000 in cost be performed by a
licensed general contractor. The next lowest bidder, JOCCA is
a licensed general contractor and is recommended for contract
award.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Manager recommends awarding the following five rehabilitation
contracts:
