At the Board's May 20, 2014 regular meeting, several petitions were brought forth which were
reviewed by the Chair /Vice Chair /Manager Agenda team. The petitions and responses are listed
below:
1) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that staff develop a database of all businesses
in Orange County.
Response: This item will be referred to Economic Development for analysis and recommendation to
the Board.
2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich for the Board to review the Community Home
Trust charter.
Response: This item will be scheduled for discussion by the Board in fall 2014.
3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich for the County to pursue assisting
PORCH with locating warehouse storage space.
Response: Economic Development will review and provide information to PORCH on potential
private sector space.
4) Review and consider a request from Commissioner Jacobs for the County to determine if any
air quality monitors can be located in Orange County, and if necessary to pursue opportunities
with UNC and other research entities to locate monitors in the County.
Response: Staff to determine if any monitors exist and pursue opportunities with UNC and
other research entities to jointly locate monitors in Orange County.
This letter will be provided as an Information Item on the June 3, 2014 agenda for public
information.
