HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 19440904 14inutes of the Board of Commissioners of 1 J 1 Orange County, 1-onday September 4,1944 i The Board met at the usual hour, in the Commisibioner's Room at the Court House; Present,Collier Cobb, Jr.,Chairman, Ben F. Wilson and Hubert G. Laws, Commissioners. The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved. - Mr. A. H. Graham, stated,that he and Gilbert W. Ray had Investigated the condition of the County Cemetery, and recom- mended that the grounds in the old part be leveled and put in such shape that it could be mowed. Upon motion of Commissioner Wilson, duly seconded by Commis- sioner Laws, and unanimously passed that beginning witl the year 1945, Fred Morrow, Colored, of Chapel Hill, be exempted from future listing and paying of poll taxes. Mr. W. T. Mattox, Superintendent, of Public Welfare, presented a list of all 0. A. A. and A. D. C. revisions for the month of August.
