July 10,1944 at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
Present, Collier Cobb, Jr., Chairman, Ben F. Wilson and Hubert G
Laws, Commissioners; A. H. Graham, County Attorney and G. W. Ray, County
Accountant.
This was ant' adjourned meeting held for the purpose of giving
careful consideration to the,Budget estimates of the various County
departments which were submitted to the Board at .their regular meet-
ing of July 3, 1944.
On motion of Commissioner Wilson, duly seconded by Commissioner
Laws, the following motion was unanimously adopted:
That whereas, this Board has discussed the fiscal budget for the
year 1944-1945 and has agreed upon tentative figures in said budget, but
final adoption thereof has been postponed until the regular meeting in
August, 1944, in order that said tentative budget may be duly published;
and
Whereas, it Is necessary and proper that fixed salaries, principal
and Interest of Indebtedness, stated compensation of officers and
employees, and usual ordinary expenses of the county and its subdivis-
ions may be promptly paid:
Now, therefore, it is hereby ordered that the following Interim
appropriations be made:
To the General Fund $1,800.00
To Public Welfare Fund 4,400.00
To Sal&ries and Fees 2,000.00
To Courts and Jails 100.00
To School Fund 1,500.00
The County Accountant is authorized and directed to-pay current
ordinary espenses against the funds above listed not exceeding the amounts]
of the appropriations hereby made. Said appropriations made by this resolW-
tion shall be chairgeable to the several appropriations respectively here-
after made in the annual appropriations resolution and adoption of annual
bu(!p7et for the year 1944- 1945, which will be done at the regular August
meeting of,this Board.
There being no further business, upon motion, adjourned.
