ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
DIVISION OF MOTOR VEHICLES TO DISTRIBUTE CERTAIN VEHICLE REGISTRATION
TAXES DIRECTLY TO TRIANGLE TRANSIT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners has adopted the Orange County Bus
and Rail Investment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners imposed a seven dollar ($7.00) motor
vehicle registration tax on vehicles registered in Orange County; and
WHEREAS, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles has commenced collection of this
registration tax; and
WHEREAS, Article 52 of the North Carolina General Statutes authorizes the North Carolina
Division of Motor Vehicles to disburse funds from this registration tax directly to the county from
which it is collected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners
hereby authorizes the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles to disburse funds collected from
this seven dollar ($7.00) vehicle registration tax on motor vehicles registered in Orange County
directly to Triangle Transit Authority to be distributed in a manner consistent with the Orange
County Bus and Rail Investment Plan and Interlocal Implementation Agreement for the Orange
County Bus and Rail Investment Plan.
