PURPOSE:. To approve a change in the Board's meeting schedule.
BACKGROUND: The Board of Commissioners' 1996 regular meeting schedule includes a
meeting with the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners on Wednesday,November 13, 1996, at the
Government Services Center. This meeting needs to be replaced by an Assembly of Governments
meeting to continue facilitated discussions among the governing boards of Orange County and the
Towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough on the future structure of solid waste management
throughout Orange County. This meeting will be in follow up to the September 30, 1996 Assembly
of Governments meeting concerning the same topic.
RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve a meeting of the Board of Commissioners as part of the
Assembly of Governments for Wednesday,November 13, 1996, at 6:30pm at the Homestead
Community Center on Homestead Road.
