PURPOSE: To consider awarding a bid for the purchase of twenty one (21)
personal computers for Social Services .
BACKGROUND: As a part of the ongoing automation of the Department of Social
Services, funds have been allocated in the 1996 -97 budget for
the purchase of twenty-one Personal Computers . Orange County
has identified needs and developed specifications for Personal
Computers that will function on the existing network in Social
Services. Orange County advertised the bid and five responsive
bids were received. A copy of the tabulation is attached.
P.C. Innovations of Cary, North Carolina submitted the lowest
responsible bid at a delivered cost of $974 .00 each for Pentium
100 Mhz Personal Computers .
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends award of the bid to P.C. Innovations of
Cary, North Carolina at a delivered cost of $974 . 00 per
computer.
