PURPOSE: To receive the Status of Women in Orange County Report from the Commission for
Women.
BACKGROUND: As one of its duties, the Commission for Women is charged with identifying
the status of women in Orange County and disseminating information on this status. The attached
Report provides a snapshot profile of the economic and social status of Orange County women. .
The Commission for Women is providing copies of this Report to human services agencies in the
County to increase awareness of women's needs and to assist in their program planning.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive the Report as
information.
