PURPOSE: To consider awarding an RFP for providing Computer Training
Classes for County Employees.
BACKGROUND: Funds have been allocated in the 1996-97 budget for
Computer Training Classes for County Employees . The
classes will be taught in Microsoft Windows, Windows 95,
Windows NT and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Access) . The classes will be conducted in
space provided by the County utilizing equipment, trainers
and course materials provided by the successful vendor.
Orange County' s needs were identified and specifications
were developed by County Staff. Proposals were solicited
from five vendors. Three bidders responded. A tabulation
is attached. New Horizon Computer Learning Center of
Durham, North Carolina provided the lowest responsible
proposal at a cost of $745. 00 for a class size of twelve.
RECOMMENDATION• Authorize the Manager to award the RFP to New Horizon
Computer Learning Center of Durham at a cost of $745. 00 per
class and authorize the manager to sign a contract with New
Horizon Computer Learning Center pending staff and Attorney
approval.
