PURPOSE: To present the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award
of the Government Finance Officers' Xssociation
(GFOA) to the staff of the Orange County Budget
office.
BACKGROUND: The County has received notification that the 1995-96
Orange County Budget has been recognized by the GFOA
with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
This award is the highest form of recognition in
governmental budgeting. This year marks the sixth
consecutive year that the Budget staff - Budget
Director Sally Kost and Budget & Management Analyst
Donna Dean - have published a budget document that
meets GFOA criteria as a policy document, as an
operations guide, as a financial plan and as a
communication device.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board recognize the
achievement of the Orange County Budget Office and
present the GFOA plaque to the Budget staff.

Budget Presentation Award for the current year, from the Government Finance Officers
Association(GFOA). This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting
and represents a significant achievement by your organization.
When a Distinguished Budget Presentation award is granted to an entity, a Certificate of
Recognition for Budget Presentation is also presented to the individual or department designated
as being primarily responsible for its having achieved the award. This has been presented to:
