KSilson and H. G. ', Lews, Commissioners. The minsstes of the fi]ey meetings were read end ¢nnro ved. IL^, ;`lordie R. He also submitted his 19$0-1951 budget needs, which cell for ¢n enpropri ati on by the County of F1610. I~Sr. G. 0. Reitzel presented petition signed by several citizens of Tryon Street, reeue sting that said street be hardsurfaced to ¢ greeter width, from Hi ghv+ey 70A to the Hillsboro High School, a distance of two blocks. tdr. John A. Tones presented a road oetlt ion recuesting tho State Highway a. Public l7orks Commission to telce over r_nd maintain e road in the Gery Sylces Com- munity running from Ri ghwey No. 86 across the Orange Grove Road, back to end across tha Orange Grovo Roed to Highway ldo. 86, e dis ten ce or 1.2 miles. 171113 am T. 0¢kley presented e netition asking the Stets Highway end Public Works Coaaniss ion to take over end maintain a road in Hillsboro Tovmship, run- ning from Nighv;ey Plo. 70A to beck oT A, f1. Henion property, known as the Old Ceder Grove Roed, e distance of approximately one mile. A netition was presented asking the State Highway and Public 17orks Commis- sion to grade, widen and blacktop e road in Cheeks Tovrnshi?, running from Buckhorn to the Old Highway South of Efland, a distance of 3.6 miles. lvo action was taken by the Board on any of the above petitions. C It was then brought to the attention of the Hoard that the intersection of the road leading from Hidden Hills Development with J, S, Highway 15-501 no ar Bolin Cre alt Bridge Best oT Chapel H111 was a very obstructed Intersection making the same very dangerous to the travelling public. After full discussion, upon motion of Cammissi oner Laws, duly seconded by Conmis si oner Ylilson, the follovring resolution was unanimously adopted: RESOLt ~•D, That the Board of Commis sione^s of Orange County do hereby teepee tfully request the North Caroline State Highway and Public fiorlcs Commissioner to, es soon as reesoneblg possible, cause to be made such clearing, grading, daylighting end other improve- ments es vrill m¢lce tl?e intersection es above described in e safe condition for persons and property using the said coed and highway. It is ordered that a certified cony of this resolution be i•urnished the North Carolina Stata Highvrey and Public Vlorlcs Commission. i~irs. Jean fii. Hoer, Superintendent of Public i"lei tare appeared and asked that P.id to Blind grant of Charlie tlhi to be incree sad from 543.00 per month to 548.00 per month, Now, therefore, upon motion of Commissioner 17ilson, duly seconded by Com- missioner Laws, the foregoing incre ese of grant was unanimously approved, Lir s. Heor also toque sted that Senhronia Sykes be paid 529.00 per month from Aid to H1ind funds. Now, therefore, upon rnoti on of Commi ssionar Laws, seconded by Commissioner ';131son, it is hereby ordered that Sephroni¢ Sykes be paid 529.00 per month as Aid to Hlind. Tdr. Sidney Green, Chairman of the Confederate 7.iemori el Library Board, and fitr s. Douglass Davis, Librarian, appe Bred and merle a very fine report of their work for the first nine months of this fiscal veer. Book circulation from July I, 1949 through Lierch 31, 19$0 being 22,802 es against 12,827 lest year. Dir. Green stated that the Library Board was asking for an annronrieti on of 51000.00 from the County Tor the fiscal year 1950-19$1. A road pe ti tl on for 15/100 of e mile of the Old P.irnart Roed beginning at Hillsboro Street Extension in Chapel Hi11 Township, was approved and ordered sent to the State Highway and Public l7orks Commission for their consideration.
