BACKGROUND: Since August 1994 the counties of Durham,Wake, Chatham and Orange, The City of Durham and the Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro, have worked cooperatively through an interlocal agreement to conduct household hazardous waste collection programs, which operates once a month in each county and provides a safe convenient place for citizens to dispose of household hazardous waste. The Triangle J Council of Governments household hazardous waste committee and Laidlaw Environmental Services drafted the enclosed amendment, which addresses changes to contract cost ; performance review, to include new requirements for reduction in per capita cost; and additional OSHA requirements.
